How I manage my kids clothing.

Hey, other moms! Our home is crafted just for us—maybe not magazine-ready, but it’s cozy and perfectly functional for our little crew. I’ve gotten some side-eye for keeping laundry in the living room, but once friends see it in action, they’re blown away and wish they’d tried it too. Trust your instincts—you’ve got this! 🤗

Kids clothing is kept in the living room.

Can you guess where the clothes are? Probably in the beautiful antique drawers🤩

Keep it Simple & Shared: Each kid gets one drawer in our living room dresser—staying downstairs saves me from endless upstairs runs for outfit changes. Plus, it’s a team effort! Invite Grandma and your 2-year-old to help put clothes away while you sip tea together—a double win for bonding and sanity!

No Folding, Just Fun: I skip the folding hassle—clothes go straight from the line to the drawer. We don’t discriminate here: pajamas, pants and shirts all in one drawer. Easy peasy! 😄

Stay Minimal & Smart: My 2-year-old son rocks a few shirts, pants, and one-piece outfits. One all-weather coat (rain, wind, snow!) and Crocs (except winter) cover it all. Smart buys mean less stress and more use!

Share the Wardrobe: Our 7-month-old daughter will wear her big brother’s clothes. We stick to unisex styles under 5—no pink skirts, camo tees, or dresses. We lovingly donate thoughtful gifts to keep our home clutter-free and our minds at peace.

Socks & More by the Door:  Keep socks, hats, and mittens in a handy basket by the door! Pro tip: My 2-year-old and 7-month-old share socks—big on her but cozy and secure.

Organize Like a Pro:  Our basement has 6 bins for seamless clothes rotation:
Newborn
3-6 months
6-9 months
9-12 months
12-24 months
24+ months
Plus a seasonal bin where I swap summer hats for winter gear. When a kid outgrows their drawer, we bring up the next bin, do a full swap, and update their size—smooth and stress-free!

Less is More: With a third baby on the horizon (fingers crossed!), we’ll shuffle the dresser—diapers out, clothes in. We’ll only upgrade if we outgrow it. This is our little magic solution, and I hope it inspires you too!

Bonus! the drawers are stiff enough that the kids cant open them 😁
